Developed in 1939, the Type 27 was a development of the Type 18. A distinctive feature of this series was the installation of a more powerful M-62 engine. These fighters were used by the Red Army Air Forces during WWII. The I-16 Type 27 boasts excellent maneuverability, powerful armament (two 20 mm ShVAK cannons and two 7.62 mm ShKAS machine guns), and a good climb rate, making it a good choice for maneuverable air combat. The aircraft's external armament includes unguided rockets and 50kg and 100kg bombs, which are unlocked after completing in-game missions.
